What is the max level in Oblivion Remastered?

Gind until you reach the level cap.

While there have been many changes to Oblivion Remastered, one of the most heavily debated is whether the leveling system has been altered to allow players to increase it to new heights. A higher level cap would potentially make some of the harder fights in the game easier to deal with.

Knowing the fastest way to level up in Oblivion Remastered is one thing, but getting the answer for the level cap is a far more time-consuming question to answer. However, after a bit of digging around, we’ve found some evidence to suggest what the max level could be, though this information comes with a rather large caveat to consider.

The max level in Oblivion Remastered is around 50. While there is evidence, according to Conscious-Bus-6946 on Reddit, that it could go up to as high as 80 “without resetting or uncapping attributes,” it’s currently unclear if level scaling is present in this version.

If it were level 80, this would get all of your attributes to 100 points, including the otherwise hard to maximize luck stat, without any items or Birthsign choices altering it first. All of the testing was done using console commands and cheats, so whether or not it’s possible without tinkering with the game’s code is uncertain.

In the original game, this level cap was around level 50, but could go higher depending on the player’s choice regarding their character’s class, Birthsign, skills, and attributes.

Speaking about the other Oblivion Remastered stats, all of them can theoretically go to 100. When you choose which class or birthsign at the beginning of your adventure, your attributes and skills will be set to specific starting values.

For the skills, as long as you’re performing the relevant action, you should be able to maximize them all eventually. However, the rate at which attributes increase depends on how much virtue you invest. Most skills only require a single point, but luck requires four per level.

If you were to use the known max level of 50 to calculate the total virtue distribution, getting 12 virtues per level would mean you have 600 to allocate to all your attributes. Luck alone would cost 200 to get to that 100-point value unaided, leaving you with 400 points to spread across seven other stats. All classes, both premade and custom, will favor at least two attributes, giving you more starting points overall and lowering the number you need to reach 100 in that stat.

Therefore, it’s theoretically possible to reach 100 in every stat, but it could take a lot of work. If you want the best chance at maxing your stats, begin with the Thief Birthsign and a custom class that has luck as a favored attribute. This will give you 65 starting luck, which adds 60 virtue to your total pool to allocate by the time you reach level 50.
