Echo grind in Wuthering Waves can be a miserable experience due to how many specific stats you need to maximize the character’s potential. Kuro Games made things slightly easier by allowing you to change main stats on Echoes using a Modifier.
Here’s a quick overview of how to get and use Modifiers in Wuthering Waves.
How to get a Modifier in Wuthering Waves

There are very limited sources when it comes to obtaining Modifiers, and most of them require you to either pull on banners or get the Pioneer Podcast. Once you get a few Modifiers, be mindful of the Echoes you spend them on.
There are three ways of getting Modifiers in Wuthering Waves:
- Buy them in the store for Afterglow Corals or Oscillated Corals.
- Earn them from events.
- Earn them from the Pioneer Podcast (battle pass).
If you’re a free-to-play player, look to get Modifiers from the free tiers of the Pioneer Podcast and as a reward from different events. Three Modifiers were also sent to everyone’s mailbox at the start of version 2.3.
How to use a Modifier in Wuthering Waves

To use a Modifier, open the Data Bank menu and then the Data Modify tab at the very bottom. Here, select any five-star Echo from your inventory, select the desired main stat (for example, Crit. Rate or Crit. DMG), and consume one Modifier to change it.
You can only change the main stat of the unboosted (level zero) five-star Echo. This means you won’t be able to check the Echo’s substats before deciding to change the main stat. Instead, use Modifiers on three and one-cost Echoes when farming Tacet Fields to save Waveplates.
